About the Programme

The Gynocare Annual Volunteer Programme gives registered midwives the opportunity to empower their peers through emergency obstetric care training. Volunteers travel to local hospitals and birth centers to deliver workshops, mentor on-site midwives, and strengthen community-based maternal care systems.

Our mission:

To build local capacity, transfer essential lifesaving skills, and improve maternal outcomes in underserved communities.

Who we are looking for

We welcome registered midwives with at least 5 years of clinical experience who are passionate about global maternal health and eager to teach in low-resource settings.

Ideal candidates have:

  • Proven expertise in emergency obstetric care (PPH, eclampsia, neonatal resuscitation)

  • Strong communication and teaching skills

  • Cultural sensitivity and adaptability

  • Experience in international or low-resource environments (preferred but not required)

Programme Highlights

During your placement, you’ll:

  • Deliver structured workshops and simulations on emergency obstetric and neonatal care

  • Mentor and evaluate local trainees

  • Participate in “train-the-trainer” sessions to ensure long-term sustainability

  • Exchange knowledge with global and local experts in maternal health

Duration:

2–3 weeks annually

Locations:

Partner clinics and hospitals in countries such as Kenya, Uganda, and Ghana

Seasons:

Missions take place twice a year
March–May and September–November
